no fire to plugs ?

I have 201 pro stratos with a 200 johnson gt it started shuting down at full throttle but not all the time then it got to not wanting to start back up after a while put new plugs in it last month started it driveway went to use it this week end now its not getting any fire to the plugs think the power pack has went out use to take my boats to the the shop on north end of Dayton pike but they are closed now any one know of a good shop close to hixson ?

Those engines are real sensitive to RPM's on start up. If the battery is weak or the starter is dragging it will prevent it from having spark. IF you remove the plugs and it now has fire it is most likely one of these if not it could be the power pack, stator, timer base, loose magnets on the flywheel or broken key.

If the starter drags just a little bit that will cause it too. I have had to troll a whole tourny because my starter wouldnt turn the motor fast enough to get spark. Sounded fast to me but wasnt fast enough.

Yep, his is a prime example. With his starter dragging it had longer crank times if it would. We cleaned his starter and it would start almost instantly.
