Does anyone know , if you have to slow down in a no wake zone if the place is closed for business ,I'm talking about the no wake zone in Richland creek at blue water campground? A few people have told me that a game warden told them if they where closed and not selling gas that you did not have to slow down .

So once it becomes a no wake zone , it will always be a no wake even if the marina never reopens, it has been closed for a few months. I will continue to slow down for the no wake zone even though that's like having a stop sign on the high-way with out an intersection. it makes a very dangerous situation some slowing down and others not .

Once it is repealed you may resume movement through the area unimpeded. Until that point it is a "no wake zone" which means that you stop and idle through while causing no wake.

called a game warden and ask him about it and he said that if they where not operating the business you did not have to slow down . but I will slow down until they remove the no wake markers .

"Hagen" would love to been in court when a judge listened to an officer explain why he wrote a ticket for a no wake zone violation for a marina that is and has been closed for some time.

Glad your back Mr. Guffey!

Glad to be back.......The "no wake zone" is in effect until all evidence is removed by the governing officials. That is why someone from that area needs to contact TWRA and request that it be removed, and then follow up on it and make sure it has been taken down( all signs and buoys).

elwestb - 6/8/2010 5:14 PM No Wake Zones only apply to Bass boats any way. Jet skis and pleasure boats don't count! That's my experience! See it every week!

This area might be like some construction zones on the highway. They leave the signs up long after the construction is finished. Just so they can get some revenue from tickets.
