Went to Normandy this morning before Church to get in on some of the top water fish that people have been catching. Fished up river with my girlfriend. Needless to say she schooled me, I've not been able to talk her into fishing top water before today, now that's all she's gonna want to do. We ended up catching 7 in 2 hours, all on a pop-r. Here's a pic of her big fish a 3.4 spot on the digital scales.

nice bass and good pic... Normandy has always been one of my favorite lakes to fish.... had many trips and caught lots of good fish....

MK your girlfriend should definitely be hooked on topwater after catching a nice spot like that one on a POP-R. Had to be fun.

Yes, DHaun, I live in Manchester. And, it took her a few minutes to calm down and fish the pop-r right after she got that one in.

The water is down quite a bit already from the dry summer we had. I was just up past Wiser Point (4 mile marker). My partner fished between the 6 and 7 Saturday and caught them pretty good on brush hogs. I was around the 5 ( Crumpton) on Saturday and caught 8-10 on pop-r and crankbaits Sat.

FA you're right about the good fish. Normandy has been on fire this year. The Friday night tourneys have taken 16-17 pounds to get in the money about 75% of the time. The last 3 weeks though the night bite has slowed down and the daytime fishing has picked up.
