I am wanting to take my son to catch some trout in the afternoon. I was told that the North Chickamauga creek in Soddy/Middle Valley is stocked. I stopped at the Thrasher pike bridge but it didnt look very promising. Does anybody know where the trout go once dropped off the bridge?

Take him to Tellico. The trout fishing is very easy there. You have to buy the local stamp or the TWRA agent will get you, but you will definately catch some trout. They are good size there too. Try to not go on the weekends because it is usually packed. emoAngler

I appreciate the advice. I would much rather go to one of the other rivers but unfortunatley time will not permit it for the next couple of months. I was just thinking about running over there to the n Chick since it was close by.

TWRA say that trout are in the stretch from which it crosses I-27 to the point that it is closest to 153 at a road that is eithe called Boy Scout or Gadd rd. The main lake is at a favorable temp for them they can and often go as far as the want.

I personally would waste the time .. they are caught about as quick there as they are put in.. to find any your going to have to wade quite a ways .. they dont put very many in there in the first place. and they only stock it once or twice .

Good Luck ,.. let us know if you find any !

I used to fish this stream a lot. Go up Boy Scout Road to the railroad bridge. Walk the rr bed upstream about 1/4 mile or so till the creek comes close to the rr again.

Fish up to Cave Springs. You may not catch a trout but bluegill and redeye are fun to catch. Sometimes the cold water coming out of the spring attracted the trout.

Park there at trasher pike bridge right off 27, put some waders on and get in water and walk down stream, everyone that fishes it just fishing around the bridge but if you walk it, you will catch alot not to big tho, i use to walk that creek all the time. You walk down the creek and walk back on rr tracks, use a 1/8 oz roster tail black with silver spoons.
