I want to start by saying I started a rant on another post that I deleted because when a vendor makes a wrong, right, they deserve to be commended for their effort. With my Minn Kota Maxxum 65 bottom cover completely cracked in two I looked at my options:1. Try to have it fixed by a service center2. Buy a new trolling motor3. Try to fix it myself with help from my bro-in-lawI had already fixed the directional indicator once, so I decided we would try and fix it ourselves. Not sure of the parts I needed, but knew I needed at a minimum a new bottom cover, I found a cover kit on Northland Marine's site that came with the following:Quantity Part Number (Old Part Numbers) Part Description 1 2260283 Control Box Cover 1 2262535 (2262530, 2262531, 2262536, 2882531) Control Box and Gears4 2372100 Cover Screw 3 2053414 Control Box Screw 1 PDKITRED Red Pointer Disc Kit So I called and talked to a nice person to verify what I would need and verified that with 2-day shipping I would receive on Friday. He said yes, so I went ahead and ordered online. I then called the next morning to be sure they had gotten the order and that it was scheduled to ship. A nice lady said they had the order and I would have it on Friday. Found on Friday they had selected the wrong shipping and that it would not be delivered until Monday. At this point, I was mad and frustrated. To their credit, they made it right, and reshipped me the parts for Saturday delivery by noon. Kudos to Northland Marine for resolving a bad situation. I would recommend them if you only need parts for your Minn Kota trolling motor.
