Nov. 1st Trip with Polo on the Chick.

Got a call from the Map Doctor himself yesterday morning wanting to go after some bass. I had some work to do and I had crown moulding to put up in our master bedroom so I did not have the time. After a couple of "no's" some how "Yes" came out of my mouth.emoRolleyes I am a sucker for letting folks talk to me into fishing even when I really should not. The morning with overcast light rain was what we felt would be a perfect schooler day. Met Polo at his house at 8:30 and we headed out to the Wolf. Right off Polo had a good one on a chug but it came off. Had one more boil on it and that was it in the wolf. We decided since we were only going to fish two hours according to Polo we better move on. Hit the riprap by Hwy 58 and nothing. Headed for some grass in about 4 foot there in the Harrison area and saw some schooling. I got one on a silver buddy and Polo got one on a trap. Even though they would come up every now and then it was very slow and they kept moving. Moved to another shallow flat and nothing. Hit one of my most favorite ridges and not even a bite. Finally hit where I caught them Saturday at the CFF and they were still there. Problem was another boat was there and they knew it also. We could not hit the whole area because they were camped out there. I caught three more there and Polo got one as well. One of mine was a keeper and another was a maybe. These were all on a worm T-rigged. Hit another flat and saw some schoolers but each time we got close they would move.emoBang Well before we knew it, it was 12 noon and our two hour fishing trip was now going into it's forth hour.emoEek I told Polo I had better go home and do a little work so I made him take me in.emoBigsmile Like most doctors your appointment that should only take a couple hours takes twice as long. Polo is no different.emoTongue It started raining hard as we were getting to his dock so it was best to be in with the weather anyways. I had a great time as always with Polo but just to warn ya, if he says,"Just for a couple hours." Don't believe him.emoLaugh Jmax

Good report as usual Jmax. You should know by now that all doctors cannot tell time. I don't think you minded him loosing track of the time however. Bottom line is you all did catch some fish and enjoyed the fellowship...emoGeezer

DK we went in his boat and he did not bring a rainsuit.emoScratch Told him he needed to get a good one and he said he had two but could not find the bottoms.emoLaugh A lot of good that did him. He got wet, cold and looked a little worn but I know he would have stayed if I had not said I needed to go in. He is a true fisherman, some may call it something else.emoBigsmile Jmax
