I left out on a trip with a co-worker from T.J. Snow Co. Inc Thursday morn in a 18 wheeler flat bed to pick up a load of used welders ( Pictures of what we went after below) , from a closed Modine plant in Jackson ( They made radiators ) first time Ive been in a big truck since I was a kid .. was cool .. liked being up so high above all the cars , and 70 felt like you where doing 50 .. it was a 7 hr trip, 489 miles each way. Something about being in a big truck makes the trip feel shorter.. unusually Im getting the urge to get out and stretch after about 1-2 hrs in my car .. this trip we only stopped 2x each way .. bathroom breaks and food. We spent the night at a hotel went and loaded up the truck and got back about 9:30 last night.
I wasn't impressed with most of what I saw in Jackson, at least street wise .. OMG what horrible streets, I will never complain about Chattanooga streets again.. building new stuff all over Jackson, but for some reason they cant manage to repave a main street, cracked w/ huge pot holes. The only decent roads I saw where highways in MS.
They do have a NEW very nice Bass Pro Shops store just outside Jackson, wish I could have stopped .. no where to park the truck.. and we just wanted to get home.
I wish I would have had more time to see the tourist attractions in Jackson, but hard to do in a 18 wheeler!
Road trips are fun .. but always better to come home.
Speaking of home .. my Son ( Logan) age 6 has never been with out me at home 2 days straight .. he told the kids at school .. " My Daddy left.. Mommy and Daddy are divorced " lol .. he thought just because I left town for 2 days and didnt sleep at home one night.. that made us divorced lol emoDoh .. I had told him Id be back in 2 days and would only be sleeping away from home one night .. man the stuff that kids come up with .. I guess since so many kids at his school are divorced .. and their Daddy's dont sleep at home any more was same thing lol. emoScratch
