I bought a engine for the hydra, after much twisting and turning .. I went and bought the 88spl evinrude up near Athens, its been in salt water it came from FLa last year when they moved up here from FLA .. it was on a pontoon, all the cables where still attached even the console with the steering wheel and radio lol all
They said it runs well as soon as I get a stand made to put it on to test it I will let you know .. there is some salt corrosion on the motor.
I could turn the engine over a little by hand, s at least its not locked up.. I prob need to flush it real good, then pull the water jackets off and the foot to check for salt, replace thermo stats and impeller b4 I even try to crank it.
Any way for what I paid .. I could just part it out on ebay and still make my money back and most likely a profit.
I will keep yall posted ..
