I have been planing on building a water feature for over a year in my back yard , my yard is flat except this one very old pile of rocks and dirt, that was put there over 40 years ago while the fields where plowed, find a rock throw it in the pile.. someone made me a nice place for a water feature eons ago !
I priced pond liners .. too steep for my pocket book, soo I got to thinkin .. I know there I go thinkin again .. I found some one that had a old above ground pool they didnt want anymore .. I used it for liner for pond and water fall, cutting it to shape as I laid it out.

The rock I already had .. I have a yard full of it .. need more rock .. just walk around and pick em up , Ive been picking up rocks and piling them up on that hill for 1 1/2 yrs .. still need more sheesh

Its still a work in progress .. but considering I started it Monday morning.. worked until 4:30 .. then have done a lil each afternoon since then.
I bought a water flower at pond store, went down to north chick creek, and found some tad polls and some various water grasses, and put them in the pond today.. I still need to add more rocks and other things to cover the liner.. and add a water pump, but I think it looks great so far .. now if I cant get away to go fishin I can back up my boat and flip to the weeds .. maybe if I try real hard a 5lb bass will show up in there some day emoLaugh .. heck I already have 2 water skippers .. and I have no idea how they got there! emoLaugh

What no comments .. no poking and prodding from the peanut gallery .. sheesh ... I usually get a bunch of snide comments on about every post I make ..
What do yall think ? look good> ? Bad >? or neutral>? emoScratch
I love feed back on my projects

OK Ill bite...it needs ALOT more rock. Its gonna be a chore to cover that pool liner all the way from the pics. Oh yea, you need more water!

Your hillside waterfall is a lot bigger than the pool with the water, needs balanced out more and as Spur says it needs tons more rock, ya gotta cover that liner so it can't be seen. Old fiberglass boats make good ponds also.

I can just picture Big Fish and Fat Albert in that pool skinny dipping. Talk about a sight for sore eyes plus what a crowd of people especially the ladies trying to get a glimse of both of them, many trying to get pictures.

The wiring no big deal it and pipes will go under log and edge of liner up the hill.

OK Sean, on a positive note. I admire your hard work, your wanting to improve your enviornment, your braveness of posting for all to criticize too. It looks pretty good to me. I built a waterfall and small pond myself. I tore it down and redone it 3 times before I could live with it. A little advice that you may not want, sit down there next to your project with a six pack of your favorite beverage. Think it out over a couple of beers. It looks like some digging and some mortor along with those river rocks might improve it a little. Getting out of the house and being creative is alot of fun, your doing good bud

I think thats great!

Sean...when you starting mine?emoBigsmile

I'll start yours when I finish my water feature, back deck w/ French doors, landscaping in the front yard ( raised flower beds, walkways, shrubs etc etc ), and stone columns leading up to house on each side of drive way, finish chain link fence, installing privacy fence on part of the property, garage, mix some fishing in with that.. and I guess it will be a while b4 I can start yours emoScratch emoLaugh
