Hey guys and gals ..
I just got back from Chester Frost .. to try out the motor .. after new to me heads, new head gaskets, new water jacket gaskets, new thermostats and gaskets , new power head gasket, went for a run up from Chester frost to near the Nuke.. ran up and down the lake a few times .. I dont know how fast I was going I need to borrow a gps to see how fast shes running .. felt like about 45-50 but thats just a wild guess.. but was the first real run in here Ive been on since being done with the boat. emoParty emoParty
I was gonna fish a lil while but I didnt have the batteries charged up, and then realized I had no life jacket in the boat at all emoDoh didnt want to get stopped for a routine safety check and not have a life jacket anywhere in the boat .. not good!

Ran pretty good .. a little quirky when cold, and getting going it sorta stumbles around like its not getting enough gas, but in a few seconds it quits and takes off .. the more I run it the better its getting once it gets going its fine.
I dont know how to resolve the issue... but for now it works .. maybe you have answer ?
It does appear to be missing some
I ran several miles yesterday the more I ran it the better it did

Could be the link and sync, dirty carbs, electrical issue, ect. Did you soak the carbs or just spray them out with carb cleaner?

Soaked them first time, and didnt put fuel filter on, then some crap in the gas tank or lines got back in the carbs, so I took then off and cleaned again, and even better the second time .. the carbs are spotless now.
I know the rectifier is bad, and one of the coils casing is cracked on the outside, didnt think the rectifier had any thing to do with running , just charging, the coil could be an issue ?
Im going to order a new rectifier this week .. they are cheap for this motor 21-35 depending on where you get it .. I have some coils from another motor they look like they are the same as what is on mine ?

Link and sync wasnt done cause I didnt change anything just remove the wire from the plastic lock, and put back on , unless it was wrong in the first place it is the same as it was

Do what I told you on the phone this a.m. Worse case is come get a set of my carbs and try them. It may have some corrosion in the passages that you can't get out thus making them junk. If you want I can dig them out. I know of 1 set of the same V-4 carbs. I may have some big bore carbs for it. Been so long since I opend up my OMC crate, I don't know what I have!!!!LOL!!! But can tell you where all my mercury stuff is though!!!!!!!! emoSmile
