You folks who have been hammerin' 'em at the Nuke Plant have my respects. I'm snakebit at that place. Started before daylight this AM.... never had a bite for 2-3 hours. Gave up, ran upriver and scouted 2 or 3 new holes. Most were a bust, but I did find one new spot (new for me) that was holding good numbers of smaller fish (3 - 5 lbs.) Left 'em biting and came back down, fished around Nuke intakes and caught one 10# fish and couple of dinks. Back down to traditional area and got one that went 14#. Otherwise, nada! Gave it up about 1 pm. I'm sure some of you were out there as well. I can't wait to hear how badly you kicked my butt. Happy Labor Day!

We're just fixing to go, so............I can't say I wasn't warned.......

It was not a very good morning at Sequoyah. I started around 8:00 never got a thing until about 11. Seemed the wind died for about an hour and a half. Ended up with only 2 decent fish one about 6# and the other 17#, also caught several 5 or 6 around a pound each. All were caught during the time the wind was down, and all caught on shrimp. Headed in a little after 1:00.

You quit too soon rsimms. Very little flow until 1pm today says the TVA website. When there is little or no flow the fish just won't cooperate. Tomorrow the flow is to be good all day. I hope to get out there with drumking.

Yea... I knew that going in. Still expected to squirrel up a few more bites than I got. Got family stuff this afternoon. Everybody tell my wife Happy Birthday! emoGrouphug Catfish are definitely an afternoon bite these days, thanks to TVA generators. I've got three guide trips this week... planning all for afternoon. But I'm still probably stayin' away from Sequoyah. emoBigsmile Good luck tomorrow. I'll be "doin' TV."

I was out early yesterday to, but like you, I didn't do very well. Just can't get the big bite when there not pulling water.
The big fish seemed to be turned on early Saturday morning. Foodsaver went along with me and caught three over 30 and one over 40. in less than two hours. So I think he had a good trip.

Happy LATE BIRTHDAY TO THE VERY NICE LADY THAT PUTS UP WITH SIR RICHARD SIMMS... You surely must be an angel... I hope he took you to a very nice cafe somewhere.... anyhow, HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Richard, you know I am just kidding... you all have a very nice family and it is probably all due to the misses... lolemoGeezer

My Wife, Son and me got out there about 1:30 or 2:00 yesterday. It was pretty slow for us too. My wife caught her first ever Catfish though. She was pretty tickled about that, it was about 7-8 pounds. Katslayer caught 3 and so did I. Total of 7 fish, biggest about 8-9 pounds. Best bait for us today was some cut bait Bluegills that we caught around Suck Creek ramp earlier in the morning. Will post a few pics later this afternoon.
