Oak Ridge deer hunt Cancelled

The Oct. 20-21 deer hunt at Oak Ridge has been cancelled due to a on going investigation of a breech at the Y-12 plant . The Nov and Dec hunts are still scheduled to take place . This bites for those that had the Oct. hunt !

I think they should reschedule. Im not on this hunt but i have been there several times and have been very successful. It sucks turning in vacation and getting your ducks in a row for it all to change. emoBang

Don't blame TWRA. The Dept. of Energy through them this curve ball at the last minute. TWRA doing the best they can to "make it right" for the 450 hunters getting the shaft. Here's more detail:

I don`t know if i would want to be anywhere around that place. There`s a bunch of embarassed security guards, SWATS and the like just itchin to make amends. I work out there sometimes(try not to)...the first sign past the gate (with multiple 20 something year olds and there M-4s up around there chins) is "DEADLY FORCE IS AUTHORIZED". Makes me nervous just going thru the gate.
