We fished a club tournament out of Chester Frost, we had probably 18 boats show up 19 pounds won, 18 second, 17 third, big fish was 8.07, and another 7.87 caught. We had almost 12 pounds, probably finished 15th. Water temp was 66 when we put in and was up to 69 before we left, had maybe 20 mph winds by the end of the day.
We fished around the Chester Frost area and we caught a bunch of fish, just a bunch of the same fish over and over. Started off the day my dad caught three keepers on a crank and I caught one short in the first 15 minutes. Fished another area near there and picked up another keeper before moving around to a pocket. We fished the point then into the pocket catching a few fish around docks on a texas rig and a wacky rig. We did see two big fish around a bed, but they were VERY spooky, we tried to catch them a few times, then moved on to let them settle down. We moved around some in the pocket, heading way back and while we caught and lost several fish, nothing big. After a bit we moved again, refishing some of the stuff from the morning and while the wind was now blowing hard, we managed to find a group of fish and for a bit caught multiple fish out of a drain where they had run shad. Lots of males and a few smaller females were caught there. Then we made our big mistake, we tried to fish in the wind with moving baits and didn't get a bite for 3 hours. We went back to the area where the two big fish were on the bed, but with only 30 minutes left to fish and spooky fish we didn't have much time to try to catch them. One of them swam by the boat and under a nearby dock, that thing was huge. The low water hurt us some because some of the areas we like to fish in that area were dry, and it looked like they dropped the water half a foot while we were on the water. I only caught fish on the crank and on a wacky worm. I did have one bite in a tree on a creature bait, but other than that not sure I had any other bites.

Thanks for the detailed report. Next week looks really good to get out of the high winds...and possibly get a sunburn.

thanks for the details. great report. too bad you couldn't get that big to bite. That would have put you right there at the top.
