I have never seen many post about yellow perch on our site. The other day I was in the sportsmans warehouse and ran into a guy that said that people were slaying them at the dams. Any of you guys that fish parksville heard of this? If so please resond. I know they don't fight that much but they sure do eat good. Thanks, Jerry

Small jigs in the tree tops, you can catch them year around at Parksville. You can also catch them in numbers on some of the cutoff ponds (big one at Mac's Point). Number 2 reservoir is full of them, although I would be cautious about eating them that far up. The Ocoee R. from Copper Basin to No2 is full of smaller ones, as they are about the only thing that can live in water that is that acid.

Caught some decent ones last year about this time in Parksville, minnows under a slip bobber. Got some good ones out of the Hiawassee (Patty Bridge and 411 boat launches) minnows and small curly tail grubs work good in the current. Some folks get a bunch out of the Ocoee somewhere between the dam and the outlet to the Hiawassee just havent found those spots yet and no one is talking:eek: If Parksville was to freeze with 4" of ice I would break out the ice fishing gear and fish the hard water. Caught lots of them through the ice up in Michigan before we moved down here. Good eating fish. Anyone ever eat fried perch eggs? These are great when cooked up fresh.
