What day! Justin andI didnt everyone to think we were ringers or something, emoLaugh so we left our wells empty all day..emoDoh Boy did we have fun washing baits off!emoBigsmile Never the less, I had a good time for my first CBA. Very smooth ran tournament. I encourage anyone that loves to fish to come out and get into it next year!

The idea of having hamburgers, BBQ Cokes, ect...was great! emoHungry Hope to see that idea grow next year.

Congrats to all the election winners! emoToast

It was definatley a tough day of fishing with the conditons that everyone was faced with. The first bad cold front of the year and gail force winds made it almost impossible to detect the bites. We only had seven keeper bites all day and were fortunate enough to get everyone of them in the boat.

ME AND MY PARTENER TOOK A BIG GAMBLE WITH THE COLD FRONT AND ALL AND RAN SOUTH.WE HAD A SLOW DAY TWO OF OUR THREE KEEPERS CAME ON A FROG AND ONE FLIPPING.DIDNT MATTER MUCH.WE HAD TWO HOURS LEFT SO I SAID LETS GO TRY TO CATCH A SPOT OR TWO UP UNDER THE DAM.WELL WHEN WE PASSED SUCK CREEK MY LOWER UNIT TOOK A DUMP.THE BOAT WOULD NOT GO JUST REV UP.WE HAD TO CALL MY WIFE AND GET HER TO COME GET ME AND TAKE ME BACK TO THE RAMP TO GET MY TRUCK.BOY WHAT A DAY.WE HAD MISSED FOUR FISH THAT WOULD HAVE GIVEN US OUR LIMIT BUT THATS HOW IT GOES.GOOD JOB TO ALL WHO PLACED.

Scott and I had fun today despite the tough conditions. This was our first CBA event also. We only had four fish for just over 11 lbs. emoRolleyes We threw one back early in the day that was right on the line of being legal...after the tough day and looking at the weights I wish we had kept it! emoDoh We ended up in 19th place out of 55-60 boats. The wind was terrible and really messed up our game plan but it could have been worse. We caught quite a few fish, but the quality ones we had been on just wouldn't cooperate.
I was impressed with the smooth operation of the tourney and the CBA guys did a great job with it. I really like the way they have the weigh-in set up with aeration tanks for your fish while you are waiting. emoThumbsup

Also, congrats to the winners! emoToast

Me and PaulJ also struggled all day, we tried it around here all day, did not want to make the run to the Nick or spend the gas. We fished several patterns but never found anything of consistency to boat any good size bass. Most of our fish were sick with short fish disease. emoRolleyes Of the five keepers we wieghed in three of those were sick with light weight disease. emoBigsmile We only had 9.90 lbs which we placed 27th. Good for a winnings of a case of coke. emoThumbsup Better then nothing! We could not try the drop shot bite due to the wind and waves were pounding the ledge I had found them stacked on the day before. emoMad

We hit grass, flats, docks and points in this area and ran mostly between chester and the dam. PaulJ put two nice ones in the boat off of a black and blue jig, the other three came off a swim bait and two off a big worm. The grass bite was messed up also due to waves but we did pull a couple off of grass on spinner baits. We had a great time and was just glad to make a decent showing. A big congrats to Hick and Haas for the win! emoApplause Also to all the others that had a good showing. With them paying out cash and prizes for the top 40 places at least most folks walked away with something.

Bbass and Churly you two just need to look at it like this,...You can only go up from here when you start your first tournament togather with a big shunk. emoDance

C-ya on the water... emoAngler Jmax

First off I would like to say congrats to Jared Haas and Derek Hicks on there first CBA win. I would also like to thank everyone that came out to fish, we had several people that this was there first cba they had fished this year. My dad and I locked down to Nickajack we caught alot of fish just couldn't catch anything over 2lbs. We ended up with 5 that weighed 10.24lbs good for 25th place and a case of waters. We Caught all our fish on a Snagproof Frog. Like always enjoyed fishing Saturday and looking forward to the classic. Congrats to all the Officers that won the elections saturday morning. Hope to see alot more cffer's come out and fish with us next year.

I would like to also congratulate Derek and Jared on the win. The CBA's are hard to win and I enjoyed hearing Jared say on stage that he had never won a tournament and he was excited about it. That is a good one to win for your first one and it could not have happened to a nicer person. Great job guys with a big bag of fish on a day that proved to be a tough day for fishing. Also, congrats to the newly elected CBA officers and the nominees that did not win for their willingness to do the job if elected. As a participant I look forward to the upcoming classic and also the 2009 season.

Good Job Jared and Derrek!!!

For your first big win Jared, it had to feel good Bud....Congrats! ;)

Congrats to Jared and Derrek also. We weighed in two fish for 40th place. Really tough day for RamJack and I but we learned a whole lot. Along with a few other folks we got to see some deer really close up at 68mph.

Also congrats to Haas and Hicks. A sack of fish well earned on a tuff windy day. GOOD JOB!!!!!!

oh yes..... congradulations Jared & Darrek. we were passing by you right after you caught your first fish. i agree with DCRAFT that it was nice to hear Jared say on stage that he was excited about his first win. emoBeer emoBeer emoBeer emoBeer emoBeer
