A crime is a crime is a crime! So why are crimes being catagorized by how it is carried out? Gun crimes, hate crimes even knife crimes. Why does it matter if you kill someone with a gun or a hammer? They are dead just the same. Can you get a harsher punishment for commiting a "Hate Crime" as apossed to the same crime that has not been labled as a "Hate Crime"? And who decides if its a hate crime and how do they determine it?
Ive been thinking about this for a while and I know why they are keeping statistics on "Gun Crimes". Just another way to try and outlaw guns. But what is the pupose of the new buzz words "Hate Crime"?
