can anyone tell me what oil they use in a johnson motor? also if a 2 stroke motor has had the oil injection system disconnected should i take out the impeller on the inside of the motor?

Pennsoil sythetic blend mixed 50:1 works great. Or you can run the johnson oil or whatever brank you choose. Impeller???? Everything that needs to be done to the engine for the oil injection disable has been done. Pretty simple to do on a johnson. The VRO is part of the fuel pump. Simply unpluggin it kills the VRO, then the pump still works as normal. Then the oil tank should have been removed and a plug put on the VRO chamber or it can be removed and a plate installed. Either will work. You may look into replacing the water pump impeller as a prevenative maintenace.

wrenchin2 can you explain further what and where i need to look on the motor to see what has been done. bull said it had been unplugged. i just wanna make sure. the oil tank is still in the boat. i would like to know where to check about the plug or plate so i can remove the tank and clean the compartment out and get it organized.

It has been. I unplugged it. He was suppose to remove the tank and plug off the oil feed line to the pump. Will work like that with no problems. But suggest removal of it. Kinda hard to explain what you are looking for. Take a pic of the port side( left side of the engine viewing from rear) and I will point it out to you or email it to me and I can edit it drawing lines to it. The plate is not nessesary. If you bring it to me, I will mill out a plate to block it for you for probably around $5 or so. Then you can get the inside organized. Later!
