shakeyhead, brought me his project boat to finish up for him, Paint, deck extension , recessed trolling motor foot pedal box , new seat pedestals, fixed his rear rotted lid that the seat mounts to, and new carpet, also fixed some big holes and other cosmetic issues from previous owners.. He loves green as you can see :)

Also NEVER NEVER NEVER use construction adhesive to glue carpet down in your boat or the next person may just hunt you down emoBang emoEnforce

Yes. Sean is the man. He really went above and beyond on my repair. I have gotten nothing but compliments from those that have seen it in person. I highly recommend his skills. I just hate that he has now gotten so busy he can't work on his own boat.

What would the damage be on a job like that?

I gave him a great price .. for what I did .. I even gave more than I said I would, but every boat is different, and what each boat owner expects is different.

To do a paint job, removing the rub rail, seats, and all hardware and reinstall all of it takes longer than the sand , prime and paint does, and if you want the motor removed instead of just taping around it, that too adds to the cost. a 15-16 foot boat to do it right could run 2000 or more.. but every thing is negotiable.

If you bring a boat all stripped of the hardware etc ready to sand and paint the labor goes way down

The paint ( Base Coat ) 150, epoxy primer 100, clear coat $100 then add sand paper and other expendables another 100 then the labor.
so $450 in materials, and the cost of any screws , nuts etc that are froze up or rusted, generally about $50 for stainless on most boats.. and then 1200 -1800 labor for a 15-16ft boat. That is just for above the rub rail, I wont paint a boat below the water line with urethane paints, only a bottom paint or gel coat, and bottoms cost more than the tops paint is more cost wise, and gel coat has much more labor.
Gelcoat must be wet sanded multiple times then buffed to remove the orange peel effect.
