Hey guys I have some old rods at home not sure make or anything off hand. But I was wondering if anyone may know a time period they were made or anything about them? I have 3 4-6' steel rods in the shape of an octagon and 2 of them have old bait casters on them. I also have a 4 piece bamboo fly rod in a canvas pouch with reel and line. When I get home I will see what more info I can get off them. Thanks Landon

There used to be a steel rod and troller/baitcaster in my dad`s garage when I was a kid and a 4 pc split bamboo fly rod. I think the canvas case and one pc is still there. I think I broke part of when I was trying to use it on bluegills somewhere. It was a 3 pc rod with a spare /or different weight front section.
Just lookin back I don`t ever remember Dad using either one . If I had to guess I`d say he used the steel rod for walleye trolling on Norris Lake in the `50s. He built the house in `59 and that was about the time (I was 6 years old in `60)when I got old enough to go crappie fishin` with him. Good Times !!!
I`d say what you have is at least a `50 era stuff .... may be older.I`m sure he aquired them sometime after he got out of the Navy in `46.

My dad has his grandpa's old bamboo rods and canvas covers. We had them appraised a few years ago for insurance purposes and they each went for $1500 emoEek
