I was given some old reels by my father-n-law yesterday. When I got home and started looking at them I realized that these reels are pretty old and pretty cool.
One is a Mithchel with a half bail. The full bail with bail spring came out later I looked on their site and found out that it was a 1949 third generation 300 reel.

One of the reels is a shakespear closed face without a button. Its pretty cool looking. You turn the face to set the drag.

I've never collected anything before, but I believe that I am going to become hooked on collecting reels now.

Does anyone recognize any of these reels as a modle that they have used or are still using?

Sorry, but I resized photos and they are apparently still to big. I will try again.

Still can't get two of the photo's. Reduced by 75%. I'll try again. Didn't work. Don't know what else to try. Any suggestions?

SUCCESS!

Very interesting.

I also have several very old rods, reels, lures and etc. It would be nice to get a value on this stuff.

I have a tele-scoping steel rod that extends to 7' -0" that is pretty neat. I cannot imagine trying to fish with it. LL

I have several old reels I got from my Dad & Uncle. Maybe, the next time we have a get-together, we can bring them to show off!
