omc trolling motor

I have been told the old omc trolling motors do much better in thick grass than new motorguide and minnkota. Is this true and does anyone have suggestions.on where to get one and on parts for one

I have two of them. One is 12/24 other is straight 24 volt both good motors take 250 for both of them
