When plugged in and charging, it get's really hot to the touch. Is this normal?

Thanks,
Bill

... don't know? I just went out and checked mine and it's not hot, just a little warm!? I plugged it in about 5pm. I've only had in a couple of weeks so I'm not that familiar with it? They say to leave them plugged up all the time but I haven't. Seen to many battery blow ups! I will say that the batteries do seem to be a lot hotter and stronger than with my old chargers.

I think mine just gets pretty warm and not really what I would call hot. This is the second one that I have had on my boat. The first one about burned the boat, truck and house down while I had it charging in the carport. I was lucky that my son happened to walk by and see it smoking before it was too late. I know some folks keep them hooked up all of the time, but I just charge mine till they're done and unhook since that incident. I forget the brand of the first one, but it was kind of a cheap model from BPS.
