I believe the thing that sickens me the most is networks like CNN, that have the usual apologies on. Most people know them by heart now; more education, better jobs, more "help" (read cash), police pulling over and arresting young black males. The problem is this; I have a buddy that owns a large construction firm. He said when he began it, he actively tried to hire low income blacks. They would not show up for work, or if they did, they would not work when they were there. The guy that is tearing down the housing project in Chattanooga was one the news recently. He tried hiring all blacks from that area, and ended up firing them all. Why? He said they simply would not work.
Education is another thing. Why keep screaming about education if the kids won't attend school and the parents won't make them? I read an opinion piece in the Chattanoogan recently that said lack of education was the fault of the schools. I disagree. If you have a desire to learn, you can learn. We are bending over backwards to help minority students, often at a cost to other students, yet all the "experts" from CNN can say is we need to provide them with an education. Have they ever heard the phrase "you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink"? It is not society's job to make low income black kids go to school and get an education, it is their parents. Society provides the schools.
As far as policing, I've not seen an officer in Hamilton County or Chattanooga EVER show a bit of bias because of race. I suggest to those young black men that perhaps they need to stop doing crime at a rate that FAR exceeds every race in the USA. If they do that, they won't have to worry about encountering the police. Look at the shootings, robbery and rape here in Chattanooga. Blond headed country boys aren't doing the VAST majority of it. If they did, the police would go after them. Police go where the crime IS and where the criminals ARE. Don't give them an excuse to harrass you if that is what you claim they are doing.
Already the talking heads are discussing that the more money should have went to "blacks" in the stimulus. They are saying now that we need to "fix" issues like Ferguson by providing more "assistance" to low income families there. This what it all boils down to.....money from the hard working people of this country, black or white. Where does it stop? When do we wake up and say enough?
