Guys we had an UNBELIEVABLE opening weekend on my lease in Hancock Co GA. Killed 6 bucks on opening day, all of which scored over 120". Another 124" buck was taken in bow season. We are off to an unheard of start here in the SE, and I hope it keeps up! Good news is, out of all the bucks we took, we only had 2 of them on camera. So that means the bucks we have been watching all year are still out there!! Enjoy.....

This is what it's all about!!!

That is great weekend. What every your doing for management keep it up, that is excellent, keep up the good work.

Thanks guys. We have had the lease since '96 and all the hard work and QDM we have practiced is really paying off! Not to mention it is always good to get to know your neighbors and work together for an outstanding deer herd!

We have just over 2300 acres on ours, and our biologist has around 1500 that connects to ours that is managed the same way we do. Our harvest restrictions are EITHER 16" inside spread, or score over 120" B&C.

But the best thing about our club is the fact that the landowner owns roughly 8000 acres surrounding us that he leases out to several different clubs. ALL of his properties that are leased out are on a strict harvest record as well. Most of them have 15" rules and that helps us out more than most people would ever realize. Doesnt hurt that Hancock Co is a "trophy" county either. Trophy counties in GA must have 4 points on one side. Let the lil'ns walk fellers.....

Thats good you have that many acres to work with, plus the surrounding areas. Those kind of places are very hard to find these days.

Holly hell I thought the pics were fakes for a miniute lol Absolutely Awsome!!! emoToast

Thats terrific! Every year more and more bucks like that are being taken in that part of Georgia. I can not understand why Tennessee wont put some of its better quality counties under some type of antler restriction? i.e. Williamson, Henry, Stewart, Montgomery !?

Thanks for sharring, and a big congrats!!!!!!

I agree Churly. I hunted Stewart Co for a few years and there are some BEASTS roaming them woods! With the right management, that part of the state could be one of the most amazing places to hunt whitetails!! Our lease up there was nothing but hardwood ridges and hollers and it was BEAUTIFUL! One side bordered the river and we had a bluff we could sit on and look onto the Land Between the Lakes with spotting scopes and count deer until I couldnt count any more......which only guarantees you I saw 10 deer, but........... emoBigsmile

And you would not believe all the inquiries we have had to join our club in the last week alone. I bet Ive had 10 emails and 20 PMs from folks on gon.com emoBigsmile

I hunt in handcock county as well. I also coach Felker in baseball at Dalton High. Great looking deer there I will be sure to see if I can meet up with the Felker family sometime this year.
