Well this is it...... I renamed the donation drive to Operation CFF Rod & Reel to give it some pizazas. LOL
I was finally able to get every one at home to drop "The Surprise" on them. I went to Meigs Co yesterday to see Frank. The other recipient and found out he was in Cleveland for his fathers funeral during the week and would be back Saturday.
Today I called my friends and asked if they would be home. I was bringing the surprise over that they were waiting on. I had them stay in the bedroom while I brought everything in and get it arranged. I'll admit here and now... this whole deal about had me chocking up! I had to hold things back as they are real and true friends that won't try to screw you over.
So I call them out and the look on thier faces was priceless. They said to everyone - "thank you very, very much for everything. I left them rod and reels combo's and 2 soft sided tackle bags filled with tackle, line and accessories plus spare bait caster reels. I took a few pictures so everyone can see for themselves.
I'm not sure if you recall, but I said in the first post that his mother says it to everyone that I'm the closest Mike has to a father. Mike hasn't had a father in his life since he was 2 or 3 yrs old. Well after they looked things over and his grandma came to take them to lunch. We were ready to leave and he actually hugged me. Wow!!! Talk about darn near loosing it on the spot.
Anyway I kept it together and let it out on the drive to Meigs Co to see my friend Frank. emoBawl Lucky for me Jack was back at the boat dock when I got there. This one was impossible to pull off as surprise so I just carried everything like I always do. I walked up and handed him the sign and then the rods & reels. Once again the look was priceless...... He thanked me over and over again and I reminded him it wasn't just me.... It was myself and members from the forum that donated things. Jack was so happy he even kept the sign and everytime one of his friends came by today. He made sure they knew what I did - just for me to inform his friends It wasn't al me, couldn't take that much credit.
SOOOOO... One last time - to everyone that donated and helped in way shape or form!!!! THANK YOU>>>>> emoThanks for making a very small project a pretty big deal for 3 individuals who are now VERY, VERY HAPPY!!!!
