This is the big blue top battery that Optima makes

BlueTop Group 31 Dual Purpose (Deep Cycle & Starting) Optima BlueTop D31M group 31 batteries are our most powerful and have the largest energy storage capacity. Usually they can be mounted anywhere a (slightly shorter) group 27 would be used. Ultra high-performance Spiralcell AGM (absorbed glass mat) dual-purpose battery for marine and RV. Blue Top has 3x the cycling capability (rechargeability) with ultimate cranking power for your boat or RV in a maintenance-free package. Perfect for multiple high-demand accessories and trolling motors with 15x the vibration resistance and lighter weight Lower internal resistance provides more efficient power output and faster recharges.

The Optima model number for this battery is D31M. If you are replacing an Optima battery you already have, this model is the same as batteries marked 8052-161, 9052-161, 27931, D31M-1125, BLUED31M, 27551, SC31DM, or N99D31MBLUE. .

Battery is two years old and retails for $285. Will hold a charge. Nothing wrong with it but I replaced it on advice on mechanic that was working on my Optimax 225 which from what he showed me off internet does not like the spiral battery when it is powering two big HD Lowrance units and also the cranking battery - which I guess the Optimax loves juice and requires a high voltage to crank. Soooo, I will take $75 for it which will make someone a great trolling motor battery and I guess if you do not have an Optimax and a bunch of accessories that eat voltage then maybe a cranking battery too!

Battery is sold. Replaced with Sear's 31 Platinum series. AGM and has a better output on cranking so better with the Optimax per the Merc board and per my mechanic's recommendation. I will let you know how it works out. I changed the overlay setting on the HDS unit at the dash to show volts so I can monitor what is going on once I get on the lake and start running all the accessories.

Those are good Batteries Bill. Actually have one now I got for Christmas that is a dud though. Going to replace it tomorrow. Other than that one, I have been very happy with those batteries.
