Fished a night tx fri night, After 5 hrs with my lights,2 depth finders, livewell and black light running Went to start the engine and the battery was too weak.Luckily i carry jumper cables just for that reason. Im thinking about an optima cranking battery. Has anyone tried one? What do you think about them?

Might also check into the AGM batteries. Take a look at Dual Pro and/or Cabela's AGM's. The spec's are the same for both: http://www.dualpro.com/lightningseries.htm. FWIW, I run the Dual Pro LS2700 for cranking and 2 LS3100's for trolling. LOTS of Reserve and cranking power and NO maintenance. Good luck with your search.

I run AC Delco batteries. They are also high dollar but they are great batteries. Boat Doctor on Bonny Oaks carries them

Optimas are great batteries, probably the best. One thing tho think about though when you are running all that stuff off your start battery. Optima blue top batteries usually have less CCA's.

I've killed 4 optima blue tops over the past 3 years now.I always charged them as soon as I got home and maintained them like I should.I'm done with them.Sears doesn't carry them anymore so they gave me some diehard platinum's instead this last time. We'll see how they do I guess.
