just added a hds8 w/ss and my regular battery doesn't look like its gonna be able to run it, wa wandering which optima battery would be best for cranking and acc.?thanks for any help

I have all Optima blue tops in my boat. 4 of them and I've never had a single problem. The have enought CCA to fire the engine and they are also deep cycle.

Last Die Hard Marine dual purpose battery I bought didn't make it 13 months. My blue top Optima cranking/deep cycle is over 3 years old and has never let me down after running both sonars and livewells sometimes for hours.</p>

Eric, I have two blues on my trolling motor right now just a year old and so far I like them. I have been told that the yellow is better on the engine and other electronics than the red. The yellow is designed to withstand, not as much battery drain and then recharging as the blue, but better than the red? Make sense? The red is supposed to be a cold cranking engine battery. Anyway that what I was told!

I run Deka batteries, but if you choose something else make sure it has a lot of CCA and A lot of reserve time. The stealth charging system would be a good addition as well. I run the Deka deep cycle with 1050 CCA.

+1 on the blue tops.you'll get your moneys worth with these,or try the trojan.both good batterys that will last longer than anything else on the market .

I got optimas in all my stuff and not had any problems. My friend sells blems for 80.00 but he is out of them. But he has some that are not blems that are 90.00. His name is Dirk Carter he lives in Ringgold his number is 423 667 0008 if your interested. He has all colors.
