Optimax Battery?

Needing a new cranking battery for my optimax.Since they take so much battery to crank them I checked out several differnt forums and the majority of what i've seen says the AGM Batteries that Cabelos offers is the best. Rated even better than the Optima batteries. Wondering if anyone here has used the AGM batteries and what you think of them?

I have run big Opti's with AGM's since 2003. They are THE ticket for these engines and your trolling motor as well. Mine are the Northstar/Dual Pro's which are, unfortunately, no longer available. The Cabela AGM's are identical in appearance and spec to the former Dual Pro. Given my past experience with anything from Cabela's, I would not hesitatate to try their batteries. If you constantly run a lot electronics and pumps go for the group 31. If not, the group 27 has plenty of MCA and RC for your Opti. Good luck!

The Die Hard Platinum is the shiznit. Great battery. I have two blue top Optimas running my trolling motor now and I hate them

Here is a little additional Opti battery info from the BBC Merc forum. The Die Hard is included in the list.

Supposedly, these batteries were tested by Merc for use on the Verado. Should work fine for Opti's as well.
The Die Hard should be easier to find locally. Shipping batteries from Cabela's may be cost prohibitive.

Merc always recommends at least 1000cca not mca for optis and verados. Make sure and use lock washers and nuts or locknuts on the post. Loose connections cause expensive problems.
