16.50 IN YOUR CONTAINER AND 17.50 IN THEIR CONTAINER. GUYS I BOUGHT 3 GALLONS.THAT IS THE CHEAPEST I HAVE SEEN IT IN A LONG TIME.JUST PUT THAT OUT THERE.MIGHT SAVE SOMEONE A FEW BUCKS FOR SOME LURES.WE ALL NEED MORE LURESemoThumbsup emoThumbsup

I switched to pennzoil premium plus for $12 at walmart. I just got tired of spending $24 for merc oil that's probably no better. I was hesitant to make the switch but Jay Smith from Jay Smith Racing seems to like it. He hates amsoil which I used to use.

I DONT KNOW ABOUT THE WARRANTY ON HIS MOTOR BUT I LIKE THE QUICKSILVER AND HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH IT.I THINK ITS A GREAT PRICE FOR GOOD STUFF

Bass Pro Shop has the Quicksilver Premium on sale right now for somewhere around 15 something a gallon. My Dad picked me up a case last week and I have to go to Nashville tommarrow on buisness and will pick up a couple of more cases then. I will let you know but I think this sale will go on through there spring fishing show which ends around the first week in March.

The brand of oil you choose does not affect your warranty as long as you choose a tcw-3 certified oil. Mercury oil is just blended for them by an oil company. You know how it works - mercury sends out and oil specification with minimum standards and whichever oil company supplies the lowest quote gets the business. Same with other manufacturers as well.

Walmart!

Walmart Tech-Plus all the way baby! My first 200EFI merc blew up 15 months to the day after I bought it and all I ever used in it was Premium Plus. I've had this block on it since 1999 and have run nothing but Walmart Tech-Plus oil from 1999 to present and never had a problem. It is getting expensive though, I think it's up to $7.96 a gallon... emoThumbsup

I'm not sure who sells it to Wally's, but I'm assuming it's probably Pennzoil - wouldn't doubt if it's the same stuff in the yellow containersemoQuestion Same goes for Merc, they have to get it from one of the major oil companies then throw in a few additives to make it "Premium" or "Premium Plus". I'm sure it's a little better, especially if you run your motor BTTW a lot. I'm getting too old for that nowadays, usually putt around at 35-45 mph.

I run Pennzoil 100% synthetic oil in my motor and have been very happy with it over the last 4-5 years.. The Pennzoil synthetic blend is JUNK...trust me I've seen it with my own eyes.

I run the wally world super tech and it works just fine. I used to run the Johnson oil in my 150 Evinrude and made the switch to super tech the only difference was it smoked a little more. I had an 06 50hp yamaha and ran super tech never had a problem. To me its not worth triple the money a gallon. I have been spoon feeding my new yamaha that super tech and it loves it.

THE ONLY THING THAT COULD COME TO MIND WITH A CHEAPER OIL IS THE CARBON DEPOSITS ON TOP OF THE PISTONS AND GUMING UP THE RINGS WHO KNOWS?

ERICK

I would estimate " gumming up the rings" is the main reason of about 50% of 2-stroke failures. Gum getting in the ring groove and eventually behind the ring pushing it out and reducing its ability to flex and eventually hangs in the port as it goes by and bingo....broke ring on top of the piston doing all kinds of nasty stuff.
Think oil is expensive......price a powerhead or even a rebuild ?
quality oil is worth a little more....my .02

I run the super tech from wal-mart It was tested right along with all unnamed brands and proved to be worthy in the 2 strok field. I'll see if I can run down the tests and post them for you guys. As for coking you will have that with your high price oils also. Its the slow troll that causes this and not blowing the excess out of the holes after a slow troll with those big engines. I use seafoam on a regular bases and don't seem to be affected with that problem myself.
But of course I would use in my motors what I am confortable with because it was out of my pocket that money came from to buy that motor to start with.

Use whatever oil you want and then go by CHATTANOOGA FISH N FUN and get you a bottle of "RING FREE" to use on it for the carbon build up.

2jigs if you are refering to the seafoam it will work on all motors . Carb or injected. I use it in everything I own that runs. some of the best carbon killer I have ever ran up on.
