Wanting to do some paddling into the Chattanooga nature center, anyone know how long the trip might take and what its like any info would be appreciated! Also anyone interested in getting a trip together would be great as I mostly fish and paddle alone having someone to go with would be great! Thanks! My email address is [email protected] please notify me if interested! Thanks again!

If you join their roles as a member you can drive-in and paddle your own boat or use theirs, but they don't encourage fishing, just paddling.

You can put in on Cummings' Hwy and paddle upstream (about 2.5-3 miles) and be legal to be within navigatable waterways.
There are some redeye bass and bluegies in there.

I would probably be up for it. Getting out paddling is always fun. Fishing just makes it even more so. Catjuggin, what do you mean by "legal to be within navigable waterways"?

It's a term used to define the water that is open as public domain.
If you can put in at a public access point and paddle upstream you can go legally until you can't go any farther.
I've caught some spots up in there above the cummings hwy bridge.

Thanks, that's kinda what I was thinking. Anything that can be accessed without crossing private property.

There is a donut shaped slough on the left just above the Cummings Hwy Bridge... The last time I was in there you had to lift limbs to get in. The water was just the right depth along the banks to hold Bluegill beds under the overhanging branches... Use your Fly-rod and cast to within inches of the Banks... I have loaded up many times on Huge Bluegills, Crappie and Bass on a large poppin' bug many many times but also many many years ago. That little slough is in my opinion the best spot on that creek..
