Went to PCB last week did not get to charter a boat but managed to sneek away on a party boat with family a couple of mornings. Caught a 23lb cobia first drop. Curse held true nothing else worth while rest of day for me. Son caught a shark that the deck hand said was around 200-250lbs and about 6-7ft long. It took him almost 45min to get to the boat. Captian said we had to cut line to dangerous to bring on board. Would of been nice for CFF picnic.

Great pics.... CooperJD and I will be down that way, Destin to be exact, in August... we got an all day trip on a 5 man charter with a few other buddies... man we are looking forward to it!

Aw Man! I'd have loved to have boated that Cobia. We just missed one on a charter in S.C. two weeks ago. He trailed the boat but wouldn't commit. Sounds like you had more fun on that party boat than I did on my charter, and made off with a tastier fish as well. Great pics....

Wow Zunker!!! Cool pics and too bad we're not going to have steaks for the picnic!!! But thanks for thinking of us!!!

Nice job and looks like GREAT fun. Wonder how much vacation time I have????

Hey great pics, especially the live action shots. Looks like you had a blast. I was there a couple of weeks ago and my wife and I loved the area. What kind of boat did you fish on? Was it a drift boat or a did you hire a guide?

I was in Destin last year and went bass fishing on the choctawhatchee river. One of the most unique fisheries I have been on. I spent three weeks exploring all the springs, creeks, and oxbows in the area north of the bay. I know it aint deepsea fishing, but was alot of fun none the less. Lots of cyprus trees and lilly pads with some really good bass. While we were there, we took a two day journy on Lake Seminole and stayed at Wingates lodge, and I actually enjoyed the river more. Here is a pic of a spring we found by accident exploring one of the creeks. The water started out tannic like black coffee, and when we got to the spring, it was crystal clear.

Pic is too big, sorry. I will resize and post later

We went out on a party boat out of Capt Andersons. With 70 people on board it can get crowded but for the price not bad. We wanted to get charter but they were booked solid. The picture with Tyler smiling makes the trip. Caught the Cobia on bottom and did it fight. Nothing like the shark.
