Fished a small club tourny on Parksville today and yes the cloud of smoke is still there. The whole South side of the lake is burning from Indian creek all the way to Silco. First place was 10.80# 2nd was 10.50# on down the line. 4 full limits and a few others with just a couple of fish each. Wind was TERRIBLE!!!! we only got 2 fish but they were nice ones. The lake is very clear from the island down to the lower end and very choppy today. Most of the guys left with wind burn and severe smoke inhalation emoConfused Don't know what the forest service is doing burning all the woods down but hey its neccasary. Everyone had a good time and had fun and thats what its all about.
Water temps ranged from 47 this morning to around 51 by this afternoon. The fish were caught on everything from jerk baits to texas rigged worms, carolina rigs and everything in between.

well that just sucks! I was there yesterday and couldn't buy a bite!I hate fishing, anybody want a boat and a bunch of tackle I cant use!

I love being on P'ville when they're doing the controlled burns. My wife and I always try to take our sea kayaks up there when that's going on. It's neat to be gliding along going in and out of the banks of smoke.

Rob when I met you I thought you were a little strange at times but you are getting strangeremoUpsmile that's just weird.emoPoke Jmax

Maybe it's becuase you guit the tobacco thing you want to inhale smoke.

I know it sounds weird, but it's a beautiful lake and the smoke just adds to it ... especially if the fires are reflecting off of that slick water.

Ranman, Polo-dog already has a boat...I'll pick it up Saturday ;). To be fair, he can have the tackle.

I've kept the bank from getting it the past year and a half since I became self employed so if they aint getting it nobody is! I told my wife when I got layed off "skip the house payment if we have to but make sure the boat payment gets made!" a man's gotta have priorities!

I love parksville. I will figure this lake out sooner or later. It is the closest lake to the house. The last time I fished it we caught some good sized perch over by greasy creek. I have yet to pull a bass out of it. I have seen some good ones but havent been able to get a bite. As soon as I get my motor fixed I will start to fish it more.
