Last night, my wife and I were FINALLY able to ditch the little man for a while and get out and do something besides chasing him thru the house and changing his poopy diapers. We loaded the sea kayaks and headed for P'ville.

Just as we got there, a terrible storm blew in and we waited it out in the car. After the storm passed, the temp must've dropped by 20 degrees, and a heavy breeze cranked up blowing out of the east. We reached our destination for the evening and set the tent up. I cracked open a CB and relaxed while Rach did the same. I also fished just briefly with my 4'6" ultralight and a rooster tail. I had several Spots on that came off just as I got them to me and finally got to actually remove a hook on a little 9" Spot. Man ... I love those Spots up there! Anyway, the evening was awesome and very theraputic.

Sorry this wasn't much of a fishing report, but at least I got to wet a line for a little whileemoThumbsup

emoUpsmile emoLaugh RR you need a longer arm to make that one look bigger but I have to hand it to ya. Not only did you extend your arm all the way out, you did your body also. Got that 9 inch bass look'en every bit of...ah.... two pounds.emoBigsmile Jmax

Seemed like a great trip. Just ome question where did you get those shorts? Just kidding emoLaugh Sounds like a great Idea. It is so beautiful up there.Just to get away. Oh yea did you see tater's girlfriend? How about banjos, did you hear any banjos?

hey RR I recognize that place!. emoLaugh I know you was too far out to hear the banjo music. emoLaugh Glad you got time to go out with the lil woman and spend some time together. Hope you didn't get out there with all the boat traffic running around. May be a small lake but it can get wild at times up there.

Ha! Jmax is a keen ole bird! Yeah, Rach and I laughed about my total arm extension to swell that little Spot up to fill as much of the lense as possible. That's the reason for the silly look on my already-silly face.

It was actually pretty quiet up there. The storms had chased most of the boats away and we left out just as the lake was starting to "wake up" a bit. There was a good bit of surface action going on in the morning on that flat that extends off of the island, but alas my ultralight just wouldn't cast out that far.

We did have a guy driving a pleasure boat full of kids pass really close to us as we were paddling out. He actually turned a pretty close loop around us and we could hear him tell his kids, "let's see if these kayaks can take these waves." Schmuck.

RR, glad that you had a great trip. Really good with the fishing added in. It is too bad about that boater. When I get out in my kayak it usually handles the waves really well. Your boats look much more seaworthy than mine and I would expect that they handled it just fine. Kayaks are so much more useful to me than my canoe. The wind and waves hardly keep me from going where I want to go.

We laughed him off. Paddling class V whitewater and kayak surfing ocean waves as big as 12 feet have left me in pretty good shape to handle boat wake. ;) Heck, the shrimp boats that were passing us on the Intracoastal Waterway while we were on vacation threw up a heck of a lot more chop than that guy did. It wasn't his waves, it was just his malicious conduct - especially in front of his kids - that made it bad. We just smiled at the guy.

It was good to get away for the evening. Rach and I were actually able to have conversations and stuff! I stayed up loooong after she went to bed and read some via my headlamp until my eyes got heavy. I was so caught up in the evening that I really didn't even eat any dinner. I wish we were still up there, but it was good getting to my parents house and seeing Parker and the girls.
