Just got back and we had a good time out there! I caught about 15 spoted bass off of white finesse worms with the worm hook,(no weights). No keepers thoughemoScratch I only had one keeper on that I lost.emoDoh We launched from King Slough at 7am and came back at 11am, we would've stayed longer but all the pleasure boats were running up and down the creeks. I hate those thingsemoEvil . But the fishing is hot out there right now, got many many bites! And I had a blast today!emoCool

Kevin, good report emoThumbsup glad you had a good time.... big question??? Did you let mom drive the boat????? FAemoGeezer

No to both questions, my mom was way too scared to drive the boat!emoLaugh And I just didn't get to that techniqe today, I didn't have any of those worms, or anything, but I'm going to try it though!

What boat were you? I was with the guy driving the red alum Tracker. We didn't get a thing and gave up by noon. Got a few hits on topwater early but the lizards we were throwing didn't get any hits.

Anyone have suggestions? I know part of the problem was my buddy and the speed he likes to fish at.

Thanks, Barry

Welcome bjanzen. P'ville is best fished with a shakey head on six or eight pound flouro. Try an 1/8oz Spotsticker with a Zoom finesse worm in pumpkin, watermelon, or a pattern that they have called "Baitfish." Dropshotting will also work, but be prepared to break a bunch of your rigs off.

bjanzen, what color lizard were you throwing? Zoom's Watermelon Candy pattern works pretty well up there. If your partner has a lead foot, you'll end up catching more wood than fish.

Where are my manners?emoScratch LOL Welcome to the forum! I use white finesse worms with the nosinker rig. Which means just a bare hook and the worm. I use the white finesse worm at P'ville, because it shines in the water and really gets the bass's attention, you'll see those bass come up and take it back down! I've lost a few really nice ones on that over there! I'm sending a PM.

I was throwing a brown brush hog thing (actually a Mann's something....) and several floating minnow patterns that worked well until they stopped chasing minnows on top.

I am quite new to fishing.... this way at least. I grew up fishing in a pond in front of my house. Still love catching bream ;)

I was in a blue Bumble Bee back up in that creek, I could've sworn I saw you there, you were with a freind weren't you? My bumble bee is blue.

Kevin,

Thanks for the welcome....I think you were the first boat that we saw come back up the creek past us. Yes I was with a friend..... it was actually his boat and he was driving. I hooked up on several but he was going so fast that I couldn't throw back on them.......I have been hanging out with him learning how to bass fish....maybe I would learn more by going by myself and asking the others on the lake;)

bjanzen, check out http://www.spotsticker.com/ for the low-down on the shaky-head. It is basically a finesse worm t-rigged on a jig head. I let it fall to the bottom and shake it, rather than hopping it, a few inches at a time across the bottom. If you order some, go with a 4/0 hook, regardless of what weight you choose. Sounds big, I know, but that size will put the barb right between a spot's nostrils and he won't shake it.

Kevin, I went looking for white finesse worms today at Sportsmans Warehouse and found every color but white. Did find a couple of others that may be close enough. Will look tommorow before work at Legends. They have a good selection of Zoom products.

Now I wish I had come over and said hey before went left in frustration.

Thanks for the help, Barry

Walmart is where I got my last few bags of those worms, but I can't beleive SW didn't have it.emoScratch That's odd, they might've been out. OH well. When you saw me in my boat, did you think I was a kid?? Well I'm 14!LOLemoLaugh Okay, here's another tip anyway, fish near rocks and bluffs! OH YEAH!emoThumbsup

Yeah, I was shocked too....actually looked for the empty rack and didn't see one. Maybe they don't stock that color. Will find some though. I saw you briefly....didn't look too close. I remember seeing you but wasn't close enough to get any age guesses;) Don't worry.....age doesn't matter. BTW, do you go to CMS.....you may know my daughter if you do.
