Parksville 9-23

I launched on the north end at safe light on Saturday morning. I hit a short strech of bank along the HWY and caught a 15.5 in spot. Then went to a main lake point and picked up another keeper and one short fish. After that, I went down river near Indian Creek and caught 6 short fish. Worked my way back up to Silco creek catching more shorts. Once in Silco, I caught 2 more keepers 2-0 and 2-08. Total for the day was 15 fish with 4 keepers weighing 7-04.

All but one fish was cuaght on a Sammy and the other on a War Eagle Spinnerbait.

It rained very little on me Saturday. The wind was blowing pretty good though.

The biggest fish I caught had about 3 others with her. They were all trying to take the Sammy away from her. It was pretty cool to see.

What is a Sammy and where do I find them? We're going to Parksville this weekend and it sounds like the lure to fish.

It's a Lucky Craft TW walker ... similar to a spook, but arguably more productive. If you can locate a LC dealer, they'll have 'em, but expect to pay $15-$17 for one.

If you choose to buy a spook instead....get the smaller version.

Thanks guys...any tips on fishing method for the spooks...I have a few in my box already, but haven't ever tried them. Are you supposed to jerk them or reel constantly? Also think I'll keep a few flukes rigged up...is white a good color this time of year or would you suggest another pattern/color for the clear water?

Walking the dog can be tricky until you get the timing right. Jerk with slack line and crank in half turns. hope this helps
