Got out again this evening around 5PM. Went with my topwater technique. (Toads in Coves)

Started out in Indian Creek, fishing my secret hole... Ended up with one hit.... It was a good fish!!! If you were there you'd be able to tell that it was a good fish! Big and loud splash. The dang fish missed the bait too. emoDoh

Moved on and fished the same creek I missed the really big fish last night and landed the 3lb 4oz largemouth. Missed 2 fish at the beggining as I was just working my way down the bank.

Then I noticed some movement out in the middle of the creek, just as I did last night. Casted the toad, and BANG!! A big hit, water shooting up about 3 feet! I knew I had a good fish. As I began to reel in the line tight so I could set the hook, the line never tightened up... I thought I had lost the fish, but then I realized that the line was moving towards the boat! Confident again, set the hook, fish on! It was a great fight. Lipped the fish out of the water. My PB spotted bass. 3lb 2oz. At 18 1/4 inches.

Fished my way to the end of the creek... Only one more hit, hooked the fish... Got away as it hung me up on a large fallen tree.

Pulled up the trolling motor and headed over to a cove that ran off the creek.

My first cast went over two seperate branches and the toad dipped into the water... Slightly pulled the toad up and pulled it over the first branch... Then the toad dipped right back into the water, pulled it up again over the second branch then there the toad went, back into the water... BAM!!! My lord!

That fish struck the bait right at the boat, only ripping the tail off the toad. That fish was another good one too. I'd say 4-5lbs. No kidding. This is not a fish story!

These Zoom Toads are just unbelievable on Parksville. Big fish are striking... but I have just one little problem... Getting to "hook" these fish!

Anyways, I ended the trip with 5 spotted bass... Only one keeper.

The pics One of my PB 3lb 2oz spotted bass and the other of my toad with no tail. (Right after missing the good fish over the branches)
