total of 6 boats made it to the event with 3 of us fishing solo.Wind blew most of the day but not so much that I couldn't stick with my plan to drop-shot a couple of points that I found in practice. It worked well enough that I stuck with it all day and was getting alot of bites, the problem was the quality of the bites wasn't any good.Out of all the fish I caught only one made it to the scales at the end of the day for a total of 1#3oz's:( The winner had 12.92 and the second place team (which happened to be my stupid lucky cousin)had 10#.No one zero'd so the fishing was pretty good, plus we had the entire lake to ourselves most of the day which is pretty strange specially on such a small lake.I don't know what the winners did but second place was finesse fishing soft plastics on secondary points (same thing I was doing only better!)In all a good day on the water and I really wouldn't have done anything different,it just wasn't my day to win.I believe in my pattern and my locations,it just didn't work out for a good bag yesterday.Water was cool with most of the lake at 48-49 and the warmest water I found(where I spent the day)was 51.

Sounds like a typical Parksville day for this time of year. I bet the winning boat never left site of the ramp emoEek Ooops. I wasn't supposed to say that. In the tourny we had up there a couple a weeks ago the winners never left and got 10+ and 2nd was close behind. Texas rigged plastics and stayin in close.

I lost a keeper with ten min left across the river from the ramp.I don't know where 1st place fished but second place was fishing down lake with me most of the day.I do know that bank has been very popular every time I've been up there and as soon as I got there yesterday a guy that wasn't fishing the our tournament launched and headed straight to the other side. What is it about that bank that is so good?I haven't taken the time to look at it(I hate community holes)but there has to be something that makes it so "fishy"

Where the river channel comes down thru there the mud has washed in and makes a channel right against the bank. it usually has a little current and the fish will sometimes stack in there. There is some stumps and stuff washed in over there too. Just be careful and watch where ya go over there. The cut to go on up the river is very narrow and the mud flats come right to that bouy in the far corner. Need to wait for about another foot of water to be able to get on up in silco. That has silted in fast over on that side.

I think that may be where my cousin started yesterday (silco).I don't know for sure because when he waved us off I tore down the lake and didn't look back, but before he said he was thinking about going in there.

Anytime you find a mudline on an otherwise clear body of water you are going to find bass holding on the edge using it as an ambush point. If you add in wind or current, you can just about guarantee it. Sounds like you had a decent day and a pretty good pattern. Big bass were hard to come by on Saturday.
