Want to take a trip to parksville. Never been there before. Wondering is there any hazards to watch out for and what's the best ramp to put in at? Any help is much appreciated!!

There are really no hazardsJust stay below the white bouy's on the upper end and that is the best ramp to put in at to.Good luck.Come back an tell us how yy done.

Might be a week or two before I make it over there. But I'm for sure going looks fun plus I want to catch one of these big spots I hear about.

Just be sure to pay that launch ramp fee. The ramps are pretty shallow. If you use that “upper” ramp ,be careful as you get out into the lake as the upstream side is very shallow. Trying to get upstream last year I drug my lower unit a couple of times before finding the river channel on the far side. It’s one of the prettiest lakes anywhere. Good Luck

When you go throw the float and fly or a jerk bait that is all you will need.if the water is stained after all this rain coming in throw a jig.

What kind of water do you look for on the float and fly? Are they suspended over deep water? Humps? Pockets? Main river?

I have tried that on Carters and Parksville the last two winters without a single bite. Managed a few on jerk baits and drop shot but that's it.

I would love to go with you Chris ... anytime ...but I am having to save some $ to help pay for my daughters wedding in a few months. Geesh... was looking at a new basscat until she got engaged. Oh well... your day is coming ??

Now if you need a partner to go help you scout it out for a few hours I am pretty good at backing a trailer ??

Hey Greg just throw the FnF and leave everything else at home. I caught my first FnF fish with the legend Jerry last year. I think we were using 9-12ft rods and it reminded me of crappie fishing. I think I caught one on a spook too that day. It's a really chill way to fish
