I have been wanting to go back ever since I left Sunday and today I couldn't take anymore so at 5:30 this evening I went back. I was so excited when I got there and pulled up to the first place. Several cast later and nothing. Than what seemed to be 50 casts later, Wham! one hit and was on but it jumps about two feet. It was a fish but the wrong species, a bass?emoScratch Where did they go???

I moved to the next place and it was out in the bay. About ten cast later and nothing. I thought how could I catch 60 crappie sunday and today nothing. I started moving around out there and went from 5/6 feet to about 2/3 and pop! There's a crappie. Than pop, there's another. They had moved in even more shallow. I am amazed that those crappie were in 2 to 3 feet today and I caught about 30 in two hours. I had about half of them were keepers. I was using the same combo with one jig yellow and one hot pink. It was the same program of letting it go to the bottem and than just slowly reeling it in and they would hit it just off the bottom.emoSmile I saw the small fry all over in the shallow water and they must have followed them in. I also think it may be the cooler weather. I also passed a couple bass places I have in the area and could not help but pick up a worm and hit it while I passed by. I boated about 10 bass with one just over three and one right at 2.4lbs. Those were the only two keeper bass. Those fish have moved shallow again. I didn't want to leave but the sun was setting and I left at 9:30. Man, I love those crappie when they hit like that.emoCool Jmax

Glad to hear that the bass and crappies are still in the shallow water for you. Check out that map of Parksville that I sent you and see if you can figure out where they would be in the same type of area that you fish in the bay.

Already did that Polo, I have I think printed eight pages of maps that you sent on Parkville. I like the low water lake maps becuase it is almost as good as a topo map but it just shows the shallow water areas when they are dry. I like to fish the shallow stuff anyways if you havent' figured that out and those are right up my alley. I guess I am like Clunn as someone said on here earlier,"I choose to fish for the 20% that stay shallow instead of the 80% that goes deep."emoTongue Dont' get me wrong, if they are not bitting shallow I will go deep but I'd rather not.emoCool Jmax
