yellburt, what I can't figure out is this. If we all want equality, regardless of race, religion or sexual preferences or whatever. Why doesn't the media, the news networks, and public accept it and act they way? For instance, why is it that so many of my Black friends openly greet each other with the "N" word and no one says anything about it!? Why is it that most of the Black celebrities, comics, and rapper music entertainers openly and blatantly use the "N" word over and over and over and no one raises an eyebrow? So now, if we all want equality, why can't I or anyone else use the term if I so desire? Do Black people have a copy right or something on the term? I don't know? I don't understand why Cello Green's performance down at Riverbend that was so questionable. If I had pulled down my pants and mooned the crowd or I did that anywhere else in public, I would have been arrested!? If I had been popping Tequila shots and was obliviously intoxicated, I would have been arrested! If I had been repeatedly dropping the "F" bomb out in any public area, once again, I think that I would have been arrested! I just think that we all need to rethink this equality thing. If you can do or say something, why can't everyone else? I'm a proud southern fried country raised beer drinking, pinto bean, corn bread and potato eating redneck hearthen! I'm a Baptist raised {now Church of God minus the snakes} Christian, white male believer and if you can't make jokes or take shots at that, may God help you develop a sense of humor! I don't care if your a fish eating Catholic, a grass eating Seven Day Adventist, a hiding out at the bar beer drinking Baptist, a covert secret liquor store patron Methodist, a Holier than though Church of Christ or a snake handling Church of God member, a Demoncrat or Republicrat. I don't care if your Black, White, Red, {I'm legally an American Indian so I can say also } Yellow striped, paisley or madras plaid skinned! My experience from football, boxing, wrestling and several other sports was that all of the afore mentioned had red blood! If it's ok for you and yours to do or say something, then why isn't it EQUALLY good and acceptable for me? I'm not defending Paula Dean necessarily, I'm just questioning the "Equality" subject of the issue. I also agree with the comments by Bill Cosby and Professor Walter Williams of George Mason University on the same type subject . JMO! Now everyone can go ahead and blast me! That's ok, I have very thick shin!
