Got out on Pickwick today with cooperjd, I was really surprised he went fishing instead of bow hunting this morning! Started out early with topwater and couldn't get anything to rise on it, I guess the baitfish that were jumping ALL over the place were keeping the fish full and kept them from biting. Finally managed a smallmouth on a finessee worm and then moved on to some rock/bluff banks. Caught another smallie on a finessee worm and then caught another smallie on a buzzbait off a rocky point. Moved around this point into a little pocket and caught a LM on a buzzbait, FAT fish and it barely measured 15", next we moved on to a bluff bank and I parallelled it with a buzzbait and had 3 blowups pretty close to the boat, but couldnt get any of them in the boat. That was all the catching we did today, finshed the day throwing soft plastics around some grass, but didn't get a bite doing that. Left around 1 so cooperjd could bow hunt this evening, I hope he had better luck hunting than he did fishing, he couldn't get anything to hold on to his worm long enough to get a hook in them. Gonna try it again in the morning. carl
