I know people who have killed these but I've never seen one in person. Beautiful deer but doesn't have good odds of surviving many hunting seasons.

Thats the truth! Several years ago 15 or so, a game biologist told me to kill them they would mess up the herd- that was a misguided answer and my DAD killed a nice doe similar to this one on our property in VA. Their is no evidence to support that these animals will cause any problems, I enjoy a little color once in a while, don't you! No problem finding them in early morning or evening hunts in the woods they stand out like a sore thumb.

They don't cause any problems, but a majority of them are genetically inferior to others in the herd. Most piebalds have bad hips along with front legs that are noticeably shorter than the back legs. They can make for a cool trophy if they are allowed to mature, especially bucks. But being covered in white and trying to elude predators is a tough task for them. We have a piebald button head mounted that my dad shot years ago thinking it was a doe. Got it full body mounted and it is a neat little booger. But his front legs are at least 4 or 5 inches shorter than the back. My uncle had to build up a platform for it to stand on so it wouldn't look so funny

cool pic...I have spent many of hours in the woods but have honestly never seen one of these. Thanks for sharing.

I saw one a few weeks ago right off 75 starting over White Oak. It was a really small deer though so maybe no one will take it out this season.

Read the regs again. Albinos are illegal to kill (completely white, with pink eyes). The pictured deer is a piebald and is leagl in TN.

BTW-thats a beautiful picture. I've seen and harvested several does with weird white spots but never seen or shot anything that I could consider a piebald. Awsome pic!

I have mounted a few of them and have found the legs to be short also. I always have to alter the legs on the form to fit the skin. They are a pain. I have one to do now.

Also i took one in this year killed in Ohio that score over 150". It didn't have allot of white but the white came up the brisqet into the neck and it came up high up on the sides.
