Please help TWRA with Smallmouth Data

Mike Jolley of TWRA called MadBomber and asked if CFF members could help gather data on the size of Smallmouth being caught below the dam. He wants to include this data with his electrofishing data.

Any angler who catches a smallmouth (3 lbs or better) in the river from <u>Chickamauga Dam down to Raccoon Mtn</u>. please try to furnish weight and length with your report. TWRA is also really wanting to know how many 6 lbs or larger are being caught (I hope to contribute some data in this area emoBigsmile).

This is another great opportunity for CFF to be involved in a conservation effort. emoThumbsup

I caught the 4.1 lber on Saturday (11-25-2006). I dd not get a length however. This is the only smallmouth I have caught above 3 lbs down there.

One 5lbs or so was weighed in along with one about 4.5 on Saturday as well. To my knowledge all were released.

You can just make a normal report, just try to include weight and length..  Mike will be checking in and collecting the info.

4 lb sm caught 10-21-06 during the spot tx. 18 1/2 inches. Didn't get the girth. It had an old hook in its mouth. I took it out and released it. Caught just up from the boat ramp at riverpark around 12:15 pm. Rapala dig. scales used to weigh it.

A fellow not in the TX Saturday caught a 7lb 2oz smallie weighed it, measured it and photographed it and released the fish back to be caught again (fiberglass mount). Real impressive fish.

Below Chickamauga Dam in the last 10 days , we have caught 5 smallies from 4.0 lbs. to 4.4 lbs. no length taken. Weighed on digital scales. The fish were all short and chunky. Also caught the same hump backed 3 pounder twice in 2 hours . All fish have been released. Caught approx. 40 misc. smaller size fish in that same 10 day period. All in 10 to 15 feet of water.

We caught a 20 inch smallie below dam and a 18 inch. The 20 in. weighed 5.6 lbs. And the 18 inch weighed 4.3 Please reply I am a new member. I need to find out the name of the club that I fished their tourn. Sat. below the chickamauga dam it was a live bait tourn. THANKS. TITELINE

David could you help me find out the name of the club that has the live bait tour. below chick. dam? I fished it last weekend and i got all my info. from the window at Jacks bait store. And we were the last ones to weigh in and somehow we won the tourn. But I didnt get their club name. The man putting it on told me their web site but i forgot it. thanks for the help, TITELINE

Sorry Titeline I do not know the club. BBass may have some friends who participate in those events though. You might PM him to see what he knows.
