Ok I know this will sound strange but hopefully someone else has heard or seen this prob. I have had this happen four times while running full throttle. On a Yamaha 70hp 2 stroke (3 plugs), You will bee running full speed and the motor will loose basically all power, never miss but loose power. the first time it happened I thought the worst, but found the bottom plug wire was off laying in the bottom, and the middle plug wire will be hanging loose on the plug, but not snapped on and the top wire is in place properly. Put the wires back and all is well untill next time. Happened two more times. It was time for yearly service, so I took it back to where I bought it, and was told they couldn't see any prob. but call them as soon as it happens the next time,(if it happens) well I would have but it was about 7 and they were closed. The very strange thing is that all four times this has happened the bottom wire is completely off the plug, the middle wire is hanging loose on the plug and the top wire is fine???? Any suggestions or info????? Thanks (gets old having to stop and pull the cover and put wires back on in the middle of the river)

take a pair of needle nose pliers and squeeze the metal clip part of the plug wire( inside the boot) just enough to where you have to really work to get it back on without wiggling from side to side. I have done this on car plugs that have done the same thing and never had the problem again.

It sounds like it may be time for some new wires. emoScratch Most wires will lock onto a plug and will be very difficult to remove.Find the end of the wire and crimp it down with some pliers or cutters and see if it will slide in place on the end of the plug and will then be more difficult to remove. This should help, you may need to do it more than once per cylinder.
