I love the spring but I don't tend to do that well fishing it, at least for numbers. Have scouted a bit to find fish for a buddy coming in a few weeks for a few days but I know things will have changed a lot by then. Just trying to keep in touch with what's going on. He's a bass fisherman for the most part so I'd like to get him on some good fish and good numbers. Yesterday I fished some in WT, some out in Harrison bay. I only caught a couple yesterday, both on flats, one in the back of WT in 1-2 feet of water and the other in a HBSP slough over a stump field. Both were caught on suspending jerkbaits. I fished earlier today but the activity seemed to be more with baitfish moving a lot more today, in shallow but I didn't catch one fish today. Did get a couple of bumps that felt like fish rather than stumps/brush. Fished shallow and a few deeper areas today, different areas than yesterday. I'm just trying to have a bunch of areas that we can try the few days my buddy is here. I have been doing pretty well with size recently but not numbers. I guess there are good things about both. I'm more of numbers kind of guy and would really like to get in on a good day of numbers. I guess I need to go down to the riverpark and get some that way. I know that there are some good numbers here in WT and the lower end of the lake but it's always a lot harder fishing it seems than on the river or other areas of the lake. Maybe it's fishing pressure related. I did see the TVA shock boats at the WT ramp today. They said that they were happy with the numbers. It will be fun to see what they found. I wonder if the 11lber from a couple of years ago it a 13 or 14 yet. That would be great to see! Here's a pic from yesterday. Once again, my date reset and wouldn't let me change it. Bad button I think.
