We got out at daylight today and the wind was up. Fished for the topwater bite even though I felt like I was having to "force feed" them today. The fish wouldn't move much from cover and the presentation had to be really slow, stopping frequently. Didn't see anything moving on top this morning at all. Front just coming through with a tiny bit of rain. Only fished for an hour and got two bass including the "chunk" in the picture. I didn't turn on my depthfinder/temp gauge. This morning but I would expect that the temps are down from what they had been. supposed to be even colder tonight. As I've said before, I really like topwater but I probably would have been better off and caught more fish with another presentation. My Chug Bug at least got me a couple.

Polo, it is called "blackberry" winter. After this cool spell, it should turn hot and not return to cold weather for months. BTW, Freida did a good job of putting you on a couple of nice bass. Were you in the creek? You don't have to give away Jmax's secret spots. emoPoke emoBigsmile emoGeezer

Are you sure you caught that one today - it looks like last spring? emoPoke Okay I believe you. Glad you got out there. It was colder this afternoon at my office than when I got there this morning so I think you got the best of the day even with the wind. I wonder if a slow rolled spinnerbait would have paid off. Keep me updated on the TW bite. Itching to get out!
