I met jason for my second fishing excursion of the day at 4:30 and we fished until 9pm. We fished for bass exclusively and none of that threadfin fishing like with GW earlier today. We fished off shore structure that we found on the maps of Harrison bay and caught lots of fish. We had a smallie that went 3lbs 9oz and a short fat LM that went 3lb 11oz. We also had around 5 other 15+ inch fish. We caught a few slicks but most of our catches were good fish. We had a great time of catching fish and fellowship. Both times jason and I have gotten together to fish we have really had fun exploring. All of the fish that we caught were on structure that neither of us had fished before but just seen on the maps. It's great to know that what the maps show is down there does hold fish. We really need to do another map study sometime soon. I would expect that the next time I would be free would be in two weeks. Is anyone else up for it? MB, would you be able to bring your projector gear?

PS. I had to doctor the pic of the smallie, too much info.emoEvil

Remember, just fish by the bouy(orange in background).

I'm pretty sure I recognize that pine tree over your head. emoLaugh And I wouldn't swear to it, but I think I left that orange buoy out there last week. emoScratch

Could be rsimms, could be. I tend to fish right near the bouys. I think that the fish school next to them most of the time. Especially the orange ones. I think that I accidentally left a bouy out there today. If I get out there early tomorrow maybe I can pick it up before someone sees where I left it. If anyone finds it I would appreciate getting it back. I have left a few out there in the past.

Yes, I had the pleasure of being Polo's second charter of the dayemoCool. Two of the spots we hit I had only seen on the maps prior to tonight. It is really rewarding to check out a place for the first time, knowing that it should hold fish, and then get a quality bite going. Oddly enough, the few spots we fished that were familiar to us yielded nothing.

I had a great time and look forward to the next chance to hit the lake for a little offshore exploration with Polo.

Another nice catch there Polo ... you might need a little instruction on cropping though!

Wouldn't it be cool to have a video of what the depth finder looked like, vs the map vs what you caught???

Looks like a good time was had by both and congrats on putting to practice some of the things most of us fisher people don't use. It will surely give some a new incentive!!

Good job there guys. I may have seen you and did not know who you were. I was out for an hour before dark testing out a new rod I had made for me. Good looking smallie.

Hey polo, you were right...should have entered the dog-fight. We would have won it by a pound or more.

It would have been fun to be in another small tournament but often I don't produce fish when there is money on the line. It's nice to know that we did well compared to the "field" of the tournament guys however. Maybe we should try it sometime.
