Possible world record crappie

I feel her pain. This hybridization must occur alot among fish. Had the same thing happen to me only fish was a cross between a LM and a Spotted Bass. DNA revealed that it was a cross or hybrid so no TN. State record Spotted bass for me.
 
That's a monster and certainly the biggest crappie I have ever seen. Kind of reminds me of a saltwater tripletail. Too bad its a hybrid...maybe they need a category for those too. I think TN has one for Hybrid stripers.

The only hybrids TN recognizes for State records is a cross between a white bass and a salt water striper (Cherokee Bass) and a walleye / sauger) cross (Saugeye).  Both of these hybrids were created on purpose.  Mother nature is much more diverse than that.  I think it's going to get to be more and more difficult to find pure-bred fish in the wild.  i.e. BigFishGuide's 6 lb "Spot" that TWRA declared to be a largemouth. </p>
