Power Trim Question

My motor trails out when I try to run it in reverse. I know I need to replace the pump/motor but would that cause the motor to trail out like that? I can actually grab the foot (on land of course) and pick the motor up with no resistance. It's an old Mercury 115 Inline 6. Any help is appreciated...Thanks

u may want to check ur hydralic oil to make sur its full and check for a lecks
